Development of Release Scenarios for Canadian Pulp and Paper Industry |

Crechem developed release scenarios for the Canadian pulp and
paper industry within the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and
Development. These scenarios pertained to kraft pulp mills, non-integrated paper mills,
and recovered paper mills (deinking plants). A release estimating methodology was
designed specific to the industry and applied to estimate aqueous releases of both
specialty and bleaching chemicals. The methodology was based on the principles of pulp
and paper processes and Crechem's know-how in chemical applications.
