Validation of Model Predictions for Releases from Sewage Treatment Plants |

Crechem is currently completing a validation study on a range of models used for predicting
environmental releases from sewage treatment plants. Model-predicted releases, such as those
from USEPA's WATER9, are evaluated against measurement data for many classes of
environmentally concerned chemicals. The study is not only an integral part of the risk
assessment work carried out at Environment Canada, also helps select appropriate models
for estimating releases and transfers from sewage treatment facilities.
