Crechem led a series of studies to benchmark the Canadian textile wet processing
industry with a focus on mill effluent toxicity reduction. Crechem developed
an industry database covering virtually all 150 mills in Canada. Best available
technologies for effluent toxicity reduction were identified and each evaluated
for their technical advantages and cost parameters. A toxicity model was further
developed to assist the evaluation of the effectiveness of a given technology
for toxicity reduction based on process data.
